In the middle of Los Angeles, near downtown, there is a place that is changing the lives of children and youth living in poverty. The organization, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), offers a campus and green space that serves 1,600 children each year with classes in academics, arts and athletics. (Read More)

In Los Angeles County, there are nearly 175,000 economically disadvantaged children living with the devastating effects of cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease and other serious illnesses. These children suffer from a myriad of physical, emotional and social consequences. Many of these children endure ongoing medical procedures and treatments, and as a result, lose their sense of play, creativity and self-esteem. (Read More)

Richstone Family Center (REEP)

In Southeast Los Angeles, there is a densely populated community where over 32,500 residents live within 1.5 square miles. Ninety percent of the residents are Hispanic and 87.6% of the residents speak a first language other than English. The only middle school, Lennox Middle School, serves the academic needs of the community. (Read More)

It is a typical spring Wednesday afternoon at Emerson Middle School. Classes have ended but the quiet campus, tucked away in a West Los Angeles neighborhood, is anything but empty. A group of 20 kids play soccer. Three classrooms contain between twenty and thirty students with one staff member present for every ten students. Another group is in the Computer Lab. (Read More)

Fulfillment Fund

For the past 20 years, the Fulfillment Fund has been providing college scholarships to the graduates of its high school programs. With the help of supporters, alumni and staff we were able to grant 49 new scholarships this year to deserving students. (Read More)
