Brian K. Werdesheim, Summa Children's Foundation

Brian K. Werdesheim (Biography)

Brian is a Managing Director within the Private Client Group at Oppenheimer & Co.  He is a founding member of The Summa Group of Oppenheimer, providing business owners, corporate executives, family estates, charitable entities and fiduciaries who serve the artist, athletic and entertainment community with asset management and estate planning services. He completed the Certified Investment Analyst Program at the Wharton School in Pennsylvania and received his Certified Investment Analyst Designation in May of 1998. Brian has been a regular Oppenheimer & Co. Asset Management Roundtable member since 1995 and has been working at Oppenheimer & Co. since 1993.  Today, Brian is a member of the Chairman's Council, which recognizes the top 25 advisors nationwide.  During the past several years, Brian has been a participant in the Barron’s Roundtable which recognizes the top investment advisors from around the country at their annual conference in NYC.

As head of the Summa Group’s business development effort, Brian is responsible for the development, planning and execution of the groups various marketing and growth initiatives. He works closely with the Fiduciary Services, High Net Worth and Corporate Executive Services groups. Brian also serves on the asset allocation and investment policy committees.

In October 2003, Brian was named to the Board of Governors for the Fulfillment Fund, a Los Angeles based organization providing nearly 3,000 economically disadvantaged students with the resources, tools and skills needed to obtain quality educations and lead productive lives.  Currently, he serves as Treasurer of the Fulfillment Fund and serves on the executive committee. Brian’s philanthropic activities have led to the formation of The Summa Children’s Foundation (SCF) which provides mission critical funding to charities dedicated to enriching the lives of disadvantaged children in Los Angeles. Founded in 2005, the SCF has raised in excess of $1.5 million for Southern California based charities.

Brian graduated from the University of Southern California in May 1987 with a Bachelor of Science-Business Administration. He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and Richmond College in London, England.

Brian and his wife Janelle live in Studio City with their daughter Isabel and son Grant. Brian’s interests include traveling, golf, running and other outdoor activities.
