| Founders | Our Story | Board of Directors | Successes | ![]() Jim Miles (Biography)Jim Miles is a Managing Director at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. For the past 20 years, he has focused in the area of asset management. Jim joined Oppenheimer in 1989 where he teamed with Oppenheimer Asset Management to introduce investment advisory consulting to the firm’s private clients. In 1995, Jim was an instrumental participant in Oppenheimer's first Asset Management Round Table where he continues his involvement today as a featured speaker and educator. The annual conference is an industry leading symposium which unites top investment professionals from around the globe to focus on advanced investment analytics and asset management consulting. Today, Jim is a member of the Chairman's Council, which recognizes the top 25 advisors nationwide. He also represents the firm’s consultants as a member of the National Advisory Council, a group responsible for developing and communicating policy initiatives between Oppenheimer management and their consultants. Jim chairs the Summa Groups Investment Policy Committee as well as serving as the Summa Groups CEO for the fiduciary services practice. This group provides advanced estate and asset management services to the clients of a select number of Los Angeles based legal, accounting, and business management firms as well as those located in Northern California and San Diego. Jim currently resides in Hidden Hills, CA. with wife Lisa and son Sam. He has two older children, Jordan and Shane. Jim graduated from the University of Arizona with degrees in finance and real estate. He is currently involved with numerous fund raising efforts for Los Angeles based children's charities through the Summa Foundation, which he co-founded in 2005. The Summa Children’s Foundation (SCF) which provides mission critical funding to charities dedicated to enriching the lives of disadvantaged children in Los Angeles. Founded in 2005, the SCF has raised in excess of $1.5 million for Southern California based charities. |
