Summa Children's Foundation2005 Press Release | Annual Event Honoring
Laura Lizer Check out the "Summa Sizzle" video On November 1, 2005 we will honor Laura Lizer, a prominent businesswoman in our community, for dedicating a lifetime to a number of very important philanthropic endeavors serving children. We are extremely excited to have Mr. Sidney Poitier present the very first Summa Spirit Award. Also, the highly regarded and talented Debbie Allen of "Fame," will have students from her dance academy performing emotionally riveting and well choreographed dance routines throughout the evening. Her academy serves a cross-section of under privileged and at risk youth and will be one of the beneficiaries of our foundation. We will hold the event at the Beverly Hills Hotel. If you'd like to donate or purchase an ad in our Tribute Journal you can download our Donations page and fax or mail it to the address listed.  Our sole means of raising money is through the annual event. We will take all the funds raised and distribute them to selected groups. These groups must be long standing viable groups with a track record of success. These groups will also be in need of mission critical money to help them reach the goals they may not otherwise be able to achieve. Our goal is to raise funds at the event that will be available for distribution to these groups. We will raise this money from ticket sales, tribute journal ad sales and a live auction. Key sponsors are being sought to help underwrite the event. That way, every dollar we raise goes to helping the children and youth of Los Angeles. Sponsors will receive special seating at the event, primary ad placement in our Tribute Journal and a sponsorship link on our web site.
